Assistant Branch Manager- Relocation Available

Job purpose

The Assistant Branch Managers primary responsibility is to direct day-to-day activities of our clients facility in order to deliver outstanding customer service, exceptional equipment quality and achieve/exceed rental and sales revenue targets. Demonstrate strong leadership skills while managing branch operational processes and procedures, equipment rentals and create a safe work environment through solid decision making and Doing the Right Things Right. This position oversees roughly 8 employees.

Duties and responsibilities


  • Hire (partnering with Branch Manager), train and develop staff to ensure all functions are performed competently and efficiently
  • Set clear expectations for performance and evaluate results
  • Manage and coach team members for success and empower to make good business decisions
  • Engage in staff activities and hold staff accountable for delivering results
  • Create a professional workplace and model acceptable behavior
  • Demonstrate our clients core values in all actions and decisions (Loyalty, Respect, Accountability, Expectations and Performance)
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and create a safety culture within the site based on education, organization/housekeeping, PPE requirements

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain an efficient, clean and organized branch
  • Ensure all equipment meets our clients quality standards
  • Confirm that customers are receiving clean, calibrated and working equipment
  • Follow operations workflow procedures from order through delivery and returns through invoicing
  • Maximize equipment utilization
  • Confirm compliance with all company state and federal policies and procedures
  • Support other locations with equipment or other services
  • Be the primary after hours contact for the location

Customer Focus

  • Ensure excellent customer experience through each key touch point
  • Delivery exemplary service and quality products
  • Monitor and lead proactive customer satisfaction efforts
  • Partner with other departments as internal customers to achieve goals
  • Resolve any discrepancies that impact customer satisfaction

Sales Revenue Growth

  • Ensure rental and sales revenue goals are achieved
  • Follow up on new and expanded business opportunities
  • Focus on customer retention methods

Other duties, as assigned or required.


  • Bachelors Degree preferred; Associates degree plus eight to ten years experience in operations or 10+ years in an operations role accepted in lieu of degree.
  • At least five years as an operations supervisor or manager
  • Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry highly preferred
  • Two years environmental and/or NDT/NDE industry experience preferred
  • Clean driving record
  • Analytical thinker with solution orientation
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Profit and loss experience a strong plus
  • Proactive approach with high sense of urgency to succeed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective leadership, motivational, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, plan and organize time
  • Computer skills (Outlook, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
