Our client is searching for a dynamic and experienced leader to join their company in the role of President of North America. Based in San Diego, the NA HQ office is responsible for sales, marketing and technical support of its products in the USA and Canada. The President will work closely with the global C-level team from HQ, serving as the managing director of North American corporate operations and as the main link between the different divisions within the company. The ideal candidate for this position has previous corporate sales, marketing and management experience within a global technology business, along with a proven track record for effective multi-departmental team management and results-driven leadership.
The President will be responsible for translating global plans and strategies into local initiatives and overseeing their execution in the North American market so that the company is at the forefront of the industry.
The President, North America reports to the Chief Business Officer (CBO), who is resides out of the Global HQ office in Europe.
Role and Responsibilities
Leveraging an approach that combines servant leadership with accountability and effective visioning, builds a culture of trust and merit-based performance metrics, assessing the executive and management team for optimal fit.
Translates the companys vision and values into the local company culture and contributes positively to it. Manages creation, implementation and maintenance of the companys sales, marketing operational strategies, procedures, policies and standards in adherence to those established by the parent company.
Relying on his/her deep experience in revenue production and brand management, plans, develops and implements enhanced strategies in collaboration with global management to increase revenues, increase market penetration (with a particular emphasis on the Enterprise market), maintain desired profitability and achieve growth of the organization.
Oversees company operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effective management of resources. Prepares realistic draft for budget planning with both revenues and expenses that reflects the rules for spend as defined by the Global CEO.
Provides dynamic and positive leadership across sales, marketing, customer service, operations, finance and human resources that will inspire and motivate the executive team and all employees, many of whom come from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Defines and evaluates performance and current MBOs of all executive team members per the established policies and objectives of the company, making necessary recommendations for appropriate adjustments in expectations and structure.
Acts as the companys statutory representative acting in compliance with parent company policies, applicable laws and regulations and maintaining the companys legal relationship with the employees.
Oversees operating and financial performance for assigned operations.
Oversees and takes part in public relations and external communication activities that support the company strategy and desired positioning.
Represents the company at committee meetings, community and industry events, in professional associations and various functions.
Interacts with Global Leadership and presents company reports at Global Management and Board meetings. Presents regular monthly KPI reports to CBO.
Other duties as assigned by CBO.
BA/MS, Business Management, Marketing, Communications,Organizational Development, or comparable field is strongly preferred
Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience including recent, proven 10+ years experience successfully managing in an executive level role including management of a global or multi-site organization (experience reporting to an internationally-based HQ would be a distinct advantage)
10+ years in a sales and/or marketing leadership capacity within a technology business with minimum revenues of $70m and 150+ employees
A financially savvy and politically astute leader with the ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and
guide investment in people and systems; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills. An ability to communicate, negotiate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders both domestically and internationally.
Strong commitment to the professional development of staff; successful track record of recruiting
and retaining a diverse team.
Experience with strategic planning and execution with demonstrated experience returning a plateauing revenue stream to a 10%+ growth trajectory
While not required, experience in the IT security industry would be a distinct advantage
Strong understanding of the industrys finance and performance management principles.
Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources, along with analyzing and interpreting financial and market data.
Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Familiarity with diverse business functions such as sales, marketing, PR, finance etc.
Excellent communications and public speaking skills.
