The Sr. VP of Operations is a key leadership position that oversees all aspects of order fulfillment including:

  • Supply Chain Planning (Demand, Inventory, and Purchase Order Planning)
  • Direct Material Procurement and Supplier Management
  • (All suppliers are located mainland China)
  • Order Management
  • Order Fulfillment
  • Receipt and warehousing
  • Pick, pack and ship
  • Customer Service
The majority of product volume is split between a DC in East Coast and another DC in Southern California and a third, smaller volume DC, in Canada. A fourth, customer specific DC is under consideration in the Pacific Northwest. All current sites have local Order Management and Customer service.

THE POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Strategic Planning for the functions
  • Planning and hiring for staff
  • Measuring performance to Objectives
  • Ensuring day-to-day management of operations
  • Driving continuous improvement in cost, responsiveness, and quality
  • Making strategic decisions about suppliers and DC locations
This position reports to the President.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prior experience managing or building as a Director or Operations Manager
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating with Supplier in China and Vietnam
  • Experience leading implementation and use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMs) or other supply chain enterprise system
  • Knowledge of supply chain (practices and pricing)including: Inventory and Master Planning;Warehouse best practices; Practices of transportation companies and 3PLs; Knowledge and analytical skills for inventory planning and management; Knowledge of bests practices in fulfillment to retailers
  • Analytical skills to measure results and make operational decisions
  • Experience in warehouse operations, including receipt and processing of internationals shipments
  • Experience leveraging technology to drive process efficiency and quality

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred
  • Supply chain certification (e.g. APICs) desirable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Liaise with superior to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback: Order fulfillment and Customer Service; Shipping and Receiving; Supply Chain Planning; Procurement
  • Collaborate effectively with peer groups: Finance (DL and facility cost); Sales; Product Development
  • Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
  • Manage/Measure: Team member productivity for continuous improvement; Customer Satisfaction and implement; Implementations for continuous improvement
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
  • Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulation
