Opportunity:

Our client is looking for an experienced VP Business Development sales professional who understands the full scope of pain points business owners face on a daily basis. The VP Business Development will serve as a senior individual sales contributor and help develop and grow the Los Angeles territory. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience selling consultative service solutions to the SMB space. He/She will be responsible for driving growth through business development activities and will be client focused with excellent business acumen and consultative sales strategy skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing your existing network to sell ongoing/recurring accounting and financial services across a variety of industries to mid-market companies
  • Sourcing new clients by developing a strong referral partner network as well as reaching out directly to prospective clients
  • Collaborating with members of team to ensure an excellent client experience across all interactions from needs assessment through delivery and follow up
  • Working towards sales and revenue goals as established in partnership with management
  • Leading efforts in building the client relationship in existing and new accounts at all levels. This includes high impact and relevant pre-sales activities, building senior management client/partner relationships, qualifying projects, understanding requirements, delivering presentations and proposals and closing new business
  • Actively contributing to the growth of the business through proactively seeking, identifying and ultimately closing new sales opportunities
  • Work closely with clients to understand key requirements and strategic direction, translating strategic thinking into actionable goals and design client solutions
  • Leveraging Best Practices in the areas of outsourced accounting and finance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of consultative service selling to companies ranging from $5-100M
  • Ideally, direct experience within one of the following industries: Finance and Accounting, BPO- Business Process Outsourcing (IT, finance, Payroll or otherwise), Management consulting, and or PEO type services
  • Strong understanding of SMB consulting as a business, demonstrated competency (or capacity to be successful) translating customer/business requirements into business solutions and successfully positioning SAs offerings with prospective customers
  • Proven experience success in a business development/revenue generating role and demonstrable track record of consistently achieving sales targets
  • Understanding of the difference between an income statement, balance sheet, and a statement of cash flows
  • Existing referral partner network, affiliate networks or book of business to leverage in Los Angeles, CA
  • Track record of operating autonomously from a home office, developing and executing a relevant and results-oriented go to market strategy
  • Recent experience operating in a small-mid-sized services business where a roll up your sleeves to do what it takes to get things done work ethic is celebrated and encouraged
  • Proven success and experience with pre-sales activities and account planning
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen (client business drivers)
  • Must be a team player and where required be able to work independently
