With a hiring market as hot as the one we’re currently in, more and more of our clients are trying to opt out of running reference checks. Their main concern is losing their top candidate to a competitor while waiting for a call back from a previous boss. Additionally, there are mixed reviews about the relevance and reliability of reference checks. The most common complaints we hear are a lack of response, a lack of transparency, and a lack of new insight into whether the candidate is a good fit for the role.
