Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing, highly focused on ecommerce and able to manage the full branding and messaging cycle. The company focuses on providing software solutions for the video editing, live broadcast and post-production industries and is looking for a highly motivated self-starter and leader with a passion for success and for driving results—someone to help chart a course in the fast-growing world of video. The Director Marketing will drive business growth, break open new markets and acquire customers around the world.

 

You’ll work with innovative, cutting edge and pretty cool brands. You’ll travel a few times a year to places as far away as Amsterdam- about 10% yearly. You’ll work closely with our executive team to determine our sales and marketing strategy and own the execution of all marketing efforts and campaigns. And, you’ll inspire and guide a team of marketing, web, and creative professionals inside and outside of our company.

 

The Responsibilities

 

  • Design and implement in-depth, go-to-market strategies to drive our clients growth initiatives.
  • Own the execution of all company marketing activities including consumer and partner onboarding and engagement.
  • Provide ongoing reporting and analysis of marketing activities to executive leadership.
  • Plan and manage the execution of all campaigns and marketing initiatives.
  • Meet sales objectives through customer acquisition and ongoing engagement.
  • Perform market research and develop marketing segments to optimize marketing channels.
  • Leverage customer feedback and sales data to drive product development across our effects, live graphics and gaming products.
  • Provide executive leadership with thought leadership and innovative strategies to build relations and grow the business.
  • Develop and maintain processes, standard and best practices for the marketing team.
  • Discover new partnership opportunities, negotiate and oversee the execution of licensing agreements.
  • Develop and manage the growth of the marketing funnel methodology to generate a best-in- class sales pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain branding and corporate positioning and ensure it is present in all marketing materials.
  • Manage and maintain an optimal ecommerce and web presence.
  • Work closely with the Product Management to develop product communication strategies that drive growth and awareness.
  • Supervise the marketing team, internal and external, and provide guidance and feedback to other marketing professionals.
  • Provide creative direction and oversee the development of video, image, written and other related creative assets.
  • Create KPIs and monitor the success of marketing programs.
  • Manage budgets and allocation of resources among priority projects.
 

The Qualifications:

 

  • 8-10+ years total marketing experience, including 5+ years owning user acquisition.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of at least 1-3 people and leverage outside agencies.
  • Experience managing at least 1 direct report and outside resources (this will be managing a team of 3+).
  • Process-driven with proven experience in planning, project management and creative development.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with high standards and a respect for and knowledge of best practices.
  • Highly collaborative with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Agile, fast-moving, with an ability to flex between analytical and creative work.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset. A business builder who thrives in dynamic, startup environments.
  • Experience managing an ecommerce website.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think both creatively and analytically.
  • Strong business analytics, relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving and change management skills.
  • Ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas to summarize complex issues.
  • Bachelor's degree (required) in Business Administration and/or Marketing and/or Business Related Field

The Necessary Skillset:

Administration and Organization— knowledge of basic business and management principles involved in strategic planning, budgeting, and operations. Understanding of how to compile and organize data into reports for management.

Communication – strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create presentations, construct creative briefs, devise sales performance reports and author requirements documents.

Content Marketing and Development – experience with all the elements of content creation and marketing including graphic design, copywriting, blogging and video development.

Creative Skills – possess basic knowledge of and skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, MailChimp, Wistia, HootSuite, Google Analytics and other standard digital marketing tools.

Digital Marketing – understanding of best practices for digital channels, devices and platforms in order to optimize marketing and advertising through search engine optimization, content marketing, email list building and social media marketing

eCommerce – understanding of the principles of online commerce and how to manage, measure and optimize results

Marketing Operations – understanding of how to plan, execute, analyze and optimize marketing campaigns. Ability to work with graphic designers, web developers and other colleagues to execute campaigns on time and in budget.

Media – knowledge and awareness of emerging trends in online media, including digital and social media.

Sales and Marketing — knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product promotion, campaign creation, execution and analysis.

Technical Marketing — knowledge and experience with the techniques of technical marketing including SEO, paid search, Google Analytics and paid search.

Website Operations – experience with managing a successful B to C, multiproduct ecommerce CMS- based website.
