Head of Mobility & Product Strategy (Relocation Available)

SUMMARY

This role will be responsible for building our client a leading auto manufacturer’s commercialization and monetization strategy, develop business and marketing requirements, and grow revenue within North America (NA). The position will need to drive the connected car/telematics strategy to directly impact sales, production, and profitability objectives. The role will also be responsible for supporting the development of strategy and go-to-market approaches for our digital connected vehicle and mobility (non-fleet) third-party data services and products in NA, as well as competitive analysis and benchmarking. Data products include, but are not limited to APIs, data marketplaces, algorithms, tools, services, and capabilities that generate revenue from data. This will require knowledge of regulatory/privacy requirements, operational requirements, needs, and nuances within given markets or countries that may vary from the global data monetization strategy. The position will oversee the utilization of telecommunications and information technology together in various vehicle systems, such as GPS map systems, hands-free communications, infotainment applications, Electric Vehicle Charging infrastructure and other vehicle infotainment technologies.

  • Define and develop  mobility strategies for our client to advance in the evolving personal-mobility and automotive electrification marketplace by keeping on trend with current market developments.

  • Develop connected car strategy, including development of the telematics business model, lifecycle planning, strategy, rollout and roadmap for services, technology and resource requirements. 
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market, developing product pricing strategies and structures, understand cost components across the data supply chain.
  • Develop Market intelligence plan by analyzing customer needs, current competition in the market place and understanding market trends and making recommendations and presenting action plans to local and overseas executive management. 
  • Develop and plan the launch of new data products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan and track ROI to constantly enhance our position in the market.
  • Lead regulatory requirements by understanding NA and specific country regulatory and privacy requirements, nuances, and standards.

 

  1. JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Education:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s degree in Business, Data Science and Analytics, Computer Science, Econometrics, or Finance preferred

 

Overall Related Experience:

  • 8+ years of data, mobile, or software product marketing experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in the data monetization/brokerage domain, with focus on strategy and distribution for large consumer base

 

Directly Related Experience:

  • 5+ years developing data science products and data monetization business models required
  • 5+ years of experience gathering requirements for agile software development
  • 5+ years design thinking or user design experience
  • 5+ years delivered / marketed software services for large enterprise customers
  • 5+ years of proven experience working in-market, and a demonstrated knowledge of data regulatory and privacy laws
  • Experience in agile software implementation

 

  1. SKILLS
  • Outstanding organizational skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented - demonstrated capability and experience in project tracking, gathering, analyzing and tracking data
  • Experience in data management and data quality pipelines is an added advantage.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner
  • Strong attention to detail and delivery track record.
  • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) and influencing skills
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Visio
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
