Head of R&D/CTO (Remote Role)

Our client is looking for a Head of R&D/CTO.  This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely.


Lead an R&D team to develop electrical sub-systems of a high-voltage (~2kV) therapy product for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation;

Transfer designs from prototype to production at contract manufacturer;

Interface with and manage contractors and vendors acting as extensions of the R&D group;

Perform system level testing and experiments to understand system interactions and work with various engineers to resolve technical issues;

Write software programs in MATLAB to analyze bench and clinical data and expedite manufacturing test;

Support clinical and pre-clinical cases on site as the Engineering representative.




With a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or relevant fields plus 10-year experience of developing Class III active medical devices, better from concept through initial production; Or With an advanced degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or relevant fields plus 5-year experience;

Experiences of developing pulse generators of various frequency ranges, including circuits/architecture design, and simulation, assembly, testing and verification of electrical systems;

Extensive experiences of hardware design, pulse forming, high power application, algorithm development, and variable capacitance application;

Experiences of design of microprocessor, micro-controller, DSP, and FPGA products for medical devices;

Extensive experiences of EMI/ EMC testing, design verification and validation;

Extensive experiences of product design for EMC, ESD, and electrical safety per IEC 60601-1.



Experiences of developing Class III active medical devices in cardiac electrophysiology areas;

Knowledges of cardiac arrythmia, batter on atrial fibrillation;

Knowledges of clinical trials;

Knowledges of the administration of medical device registration (NMPA, CE, FDA)
