Vice President of Sales Americas (Relocation Available)

A global leader in Consumer Electronics.  The Vice President of Sales serves as the Head of the Americas Region and leads the sales function for the US, Canada and Mexico reporting to the CEO. This position collaborates closely with the Heads of Product Management, Marketing, Operations/Supply Chain Management, US Controller, Customer Service and other members of the executive team. Responsible for executing the business strategy/plan to drive profitable growth across the Americas Region.  This role requires an individual with proven ability to lead a geographically dispersed national Sales Team and cross functional teams with hands on account knowledge/ relationships, and channel management experience. Must have retail, consumer electronics and Smart Home background.

 

The role requires persistence and determination to win, emotional intelligence and personal drive. The ability to lead effectively across functions, channels and markets is a requirement.

 

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Hands on leadership of Americas Region to deliver profitable sales growth across channel in both brick & mortar and e-commerce. 
  • Build deep relationships with key accounts to drive category growth through market leading product solutions, merchandising and awareness & promotional campaigns. 
  • Foster a winning culture of open communication and teamwork within the Americas and with the global Team.  Lead effort with cross-functional peers to ensure required support to achieve Regional objectives.
  • Lead channel sales strategy, account program development, pricing, product ranging and key initiatives to optimize KPI delivery and minimize channel conflict.  Lead the senior account relationship and manage direct sales team and rep firms to support and grow the business. 
  • Drive disciplined sell through focus and CPFR process to optimize forecasting, inventory management and supply chain metrics with Sales and operations teams.  Prepare sales forecasts (both sell through and sell-in), sales reports and set budgets.
  • Lead Team to develop, align and execute account promotions, marketing, merchandising plans working with cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage technical understanding of products, consumer needs/use cases and competitive landscape to introduce new product range and SKU’s to accounts.  Ensure successful and timely execution of new product introductions and promotion calendar.
  • Responsible for monthly sales results – ultimately accountable for meeting annual sales targets and KPI’s
  • Participate as a key member of the senior management team in establishing and delivering on the strategic goals for the organization
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry, market and retail trends, emerging technologies, potential partners, competitive products and best practices. 
  • Build strategic alliances and business development with key retailers and other strategic partners.
  • Maintain market awareness by measuring KPI’s including market share, on-line consumers scores, customer service feedback, attending trade events and through customer meetings.
  • Establish, hire, train and develop the internal team. Monitor employee performance including management of Key Performance Indicators; develop employees through coaching, mentoring and the provision of developmental opportunities and growth.

Technical Requirements

  • Must have retail, consumer electronics and Smart Home background.
  • 15+ years of progressively senior sales leadership roles including channel management responsibility and hands on experience with key consumer electronics, club, DIY hardware, mass merchant and e-commerce accounts.
  • Solid networking and relationship-building abilities and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain trust with strategic partners, suppliers, and customers
  • Proven project management skills. Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks, keeping track of projects and monitoring progress.
  • Direct experience and working relationships with key accounts ideal:  Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Target, Fry’s, Home Depot, Lowe’s and Amazon.
  • Ability to travel 20%
  • Has overseen a team of 3-10
  • College-level studies in business administration, marketing or similar and substantial related experience in account management, ecommerce and business development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.  MBA is a plus.
