Director of Professional Services

Location: Detroit or Chicago | Job # 700 | Category: Program/ Project Manager

Our client is a global SaaS and service solutions provider focused on improving engineering processes. They are expanding their U.S. operations and are looking to add a Director of Professional services. This position will report to the General Manager and Global Managing Director of Professional Services. 

Key Areas of Responsibility
•    Second Manager in the Country 
•    Drive the development and expansion of the footprint in the US market
•    Responsible for the management of the Professional Services department 
•    Disciplinary and Technical Director of all Professional Service employees
•    Proactively identifies and engages with key customer technical decision makers and influencers while engaging the sales team
•    Coaches and enables team to identify and understand the demands of customer requirements, decision makers and influencers 
•    Responsible for the budgeting and development of the professional service business 
•    Development of the Professional Service organization (Team size, Team collaboration, Skills, Know-how, Competence of team members)
•    Leverage knowledge of resources and assign the right person and skills for sales support
•    Orchestrate team resources and coaches the team to maximize the impact of customer engagement
•    Ensure consistency and quality for customer satisfaction 
•    Development of the solution portfolio for sales and consulting (References material, market solutions etc.)

•    Development and management of the employees and skills
•    Final decision of hiring new staff 
•    Knowledge and education of the technical team
•    Promote talents / Implementation of career path 

Sales Support
•    Manage and ensure the right knowledge and competence
•    Define together with sales the customer approach
•    To identify the customer requirements (As-is and To-be)

Training and Consulting
•    Planning of services to be executed and pre-sales (Who is doing what and when)
•    Responsible for the optimal utilization in training, consulting and pre-sales
•    Workload management of the employees 

Projects and services
•    Responsibility and decision of resources executing services
•    Responsible to establish the skill matrix (Application engineer, consultant, senior consultant) 
•    Responsibility for the results of the solution and customer satisfaction
•    Project responsibility (To meet the budget, planned cost and time)

Skills & Qualifications
•    Experience and background in technical PLM / Technical Consultancy / CAD-Business 
•    Excellent management skills / Leadership in a software organization managing 12 – 20 people
•    Proven experience in driving change management projects with a hands-on, roll up your sleeves mentality
•    Excellent technical and commercial understanding
•    Good communication and presentation skills 
•    Self-driven and team worker  
•    Well structured and well organized
•    Strong interpersonal and social skills with executive credibility
