Vice President of Sales – Remote in California

THE ROLE

Building on the strong and rapid growth of the business and its strategic mandate to be the leading service provider of in-school and after-school programs within California, company leadership has determined the need for a sales leader with the ability to be both tactical (70%) and strategic (30%). In this position, you will lead a sales team and provide consistent support and direction to the team members. This role is a high value-add business partner to the sales organization, enabling revenue growth and increasing sales productivity by providing effective methodologies and efficient systems, processes, and organization. It is expected that you will also be able to manage other internal teams such as the inside sales and account management teams to help support the continued revenue growth of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and motivate a highly driven and experienced sales team of 8-12 Directors to build new business and renew current relationships 
  • Closely monitor revenue pipeline to ensure revenue targets and achievement of goals 
  • Provide consistent and accurate sales reports to Executive Management 
  • Work closely with the CRO, COO and Operational Directors to ensure smooth movement of information between sales and operations 
  • Have a penchant for solving problems to support and supplement Sales Directors with important customer discussions as needed
  • Monitor the competitive marketplace and constantly analyze new opportunities for revenue growth, including with existing customers, strategic direct sales, network/association affiliations and strategic revenue partnerships 
  • Strategically organize and prepare the sales team to maximize the potential from conferences and networking events 
  • Work closely with sales consultants and ensure the successful working relationships between the Sales Directors and our consultants 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of sales management experience 
  • 10+ years of experience in k-12 education 
  • Must be based in California
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success 

ABOUT YOU

Pivotal Experience & Expertise

  • Significant sales leadership experience with budget responsibility of at least $100M
  • Deep experience in the K-12 sector, broad exposure to service-based operations is preferred
  • Strong background in data & metrics is essential, with a track record of driving systems that provide accurate forecasting, effective lead flow, productivity tracking, territory management and other revenue generating metrics
